US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) said officers in Southern California recently seized a shipment of nearly $5 million worth of methamphetamine in poorly disguised “watermelons.”

Officers discovered the drugs when they referred a 29-year-old man driving a commercial tractor-trailer from Mexico for a secondary inspection, and found “1,220 packages wrapped in paper, disguised as watermelons within the shipment,” CBP said.
