A crash at the Highway 22 and Highway 51 interchange near Salem is causing delays Friday night.

According to the Oregon Department of Transportation, drivers should expect delays on Highway 22 west of Salem and on Highway 51 at the 22 and 51 junction due to the crash.

Drivers are asked to use an alternate route or postpone travel.

Traffic is backed up on Highway 22 near Salem due to a crash at the Highway 22 and Highway 51 interchange on Friday night.

Those driving in the area should watch for a detour or traffic flaggers, ODOT said.

ODOT said it could take a while for traffic to clear because the crash happened during rush hour. The agency is asking drivers to watch out and slow down for emergency responders.
