Cox Automotive held a grand opening event on July 10 at Manheim Chicago for its fifth and newest Auto Tech Training Center (ATTC).

The event hosted about 50 attendees including Cox Automotive leaders, employees, and technicians. Chad Naylor, an ATTC Trainer, led a training simulation that showed an overview of the classroom and hands-on shop floor training followed by a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

With the evolution of digital retailing, mobility, and EVs, reconditioning operations continue to be one of the fastest growth areas at Manheim and within the auto industry. “Our clients look to us to provide reconditioning talent, facilities, and services to support their changing vehicle and business needs,” said Alan Lang, Manheim SVP of physical services and auctions, in a news release and who spoke at the event. “Our Manheim Chicago center is helping us position our reconditioning operations for future growth while also addressing the industry’s skilled-labor shortage.”

The ATTCs equip Manheim’s technicians to handle more than 3.5 million reconditioned vehicles annually. Other Manheim locations with ATTCs are Southern California, Central Florida, New Jersey, and Dallas.
