Copper Anniversary

You woke today with a joyful exclamation
I have grown another wisdom tooth!
Soon again screams from the kitchen
Our milk is gone bad! No, our porridge is spoiled!
I’m sippin’ I’m sippin’ and she’s not thick at all!
I wish my legs were long like yours
So that when we ride the carousel
I could drag them through the bushes

I’m often talked to by strangers on the street
Today’s case is the best so far
By the playground, a voice from behind
Woman! A woman! Way to go!
I looked around just in case there’s a friend
Yes, yes, I’m talking to you!
Tell me, how many children have walked on that playground?

I read that this year’s our copper anniversary
I will ask for a copper penis as a gift, to stir jam
Maybe next year a lot of fruit will grow at the cottage?
