Over one year ago — 378 days — to be exact, there was a toxic train derailment in East Palestine, Ohio.
When running for president, Biden claimed that he would be president for all of America, not red, not blue, but the United States of America. Well, it took him 378 days to visit a toxic train derailment, where American citizens’ livelihoods were not only disrupted but also destroyed.
On March 2, 2023, Biden said he would visit East Palestine “at some point.” Yet he visited Ukraine on February 22, 2023, while thousands of residents in East Palestine were impacted by the train derailment.
Although Biden had his people on the ground, he never once showed up to comfort those citizens and act like the president of the United States. Why? Well, some suggest that he felt Ohio was a red state, and it would not benefit him politically to show up there. In 2020, Trump defeated Biden by eight percentage points in Ohio.
Now, East Palestine citizens are sounding off. A business owner had this to say about Biden’s visit.
I’ve had several people call me and ask me if I could block the entrance of the town so that he can’t come. It’s been over a year and now he wants to come because it’s election time.
Another East Palestine resident questioned Biden’s motive for the visit after all this time has passed.
If he’s not coming here to take action, then why come? It’s been a year of tucking our kids into beds where we don’t know if our homes are safe because they haven’t been tested. They won’t test our soil, the EPA is telling us nothing’s wrong. We’re all sick; our bodies are telling us different. As a parent, as a wife, a daughter, this is unacceptable in the United States of America. It’s just hard to believe that anybody can ignore what’s going on in our community.

Two residents of East Palestine chimed in, saying if they were a blue state, Biden would’ve been there shortly after the train derailment.
But down here, blue-collar America, it seems that’s always the way it is — we’re forgotten.
The residents of East Palestine will not easily forget that Biden did not show up when it mattered most. Another resident said:
He didn’t show up when actually the whole catastrophe happened. I’m sure it doesn’t sit right with anybody.
Former President Trump posted on Truth Social:
Biden should have gone there a long time ago — for him to go now is an insult to those who live and work in East Palestine, and the Great State of Ohio, itself. I can’t believe anyone wants him there? I know he doesn’t want to be there, and even he knows he is making a mistake, because he is pandering to people who are smart, politically savvy and, unfortunately, badly hurt by Biden’s in-actions and lack of caring,”
As RedState reported, Trump visited East Palestine on February 22, 2023, appearing with Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH), Mayor Trent Conaway, and other state and local leaders.
The people of East Palestine deserve better than the leadership Biden has shown on this important issue. It is a danger to the residents of that town, and Biden couldn’t care less until a year after the fact. How could we think it’s from the goodness of his heart and not politically motivated? The voters who have been paying attention know these are political games, and they will not be fooled.
