Fox 19 (WXIX-TV) is welcoming a new face to its weather team, and she’s a Greater Cincinnati native.

Erin Ashley joins Fox 19’s First Alert Weather team as the weekend evening meteorologist starting Feb. 24, she announced Tuesday. Ashley will also continue her “Project Planet,” a segment on “stories about environmental issues and innovations” that she would do at 13Action News (WTVG) in Toledo.

“Cincinnati, I’M COMING HOME!” Ashley said in a social media post. “How lucky am I to be forecasting for my hometown!”

In addition to 13Action News, Ashley, a Goshen High School and Ohio University graduate, previously worked as a lead forecaster at WOUB Public Media while in college in Athens, Ohio.
