Los Angeles Chargers coach Jim Harbaugh returned to the sideline after he exited Sunday’s game against the Denver Broncos early in the first quarter with an illness. The Chargers originally listed Harbaugh as questionable to return — a game designation typically reserved for players.
Chargers defensive coordinator Jesse Minter served as the interim coach during Harbaugh’s brief absence.
Harbaugh was shown on the television broadcast walking into the blue tent. Medical personnel then walked with Harbaugh toward the locker room before he eventually returned.
Harbaugh wasn’t the only star to exit early. Chargers wide receiver Quentin Johnston also headed to the locker room with an ankle injury and was questionable to return, while Ladd McConkey was evaluated for a head injury.
Broncos cornerback Patrick Surtain went to the locker room as well and was ruled out with a concussion.
