Cedar Park's Bell District adds new library, park

CEDAR PARK, TexasCedar Park’s new downtown area continues to expand.

A new park opened in the Bell District of Cedar Park this month. A new library opened in the area in November.

Cedar Park cut the ribbon on the Bell Park project last week. The park includes 15 acres of greenery, pavilions, art and public restrooms.

The project, which was approved in November 2023, will also include approximately 4,000 linear feet of new trails once construction is complete.

“Yeah, it’s good for the community, you know, and, definitely good for the community”, says Cedar Park resident, Niypati Acharya.

“It’s incredible. It’s so modern”, says Cedar Park resident, Martel Summers.

According to the city, Bell Park is one of several projects that will transform the Bell District. Cedar Park says it plans to bring 60,000 square feet of retail and neighborhood development. Phase one will include two residential buildings that will be paired with ground-floor retail.

Phase 2 of the Bell District will include 150,000 square feet of office space.

“Well, there’s a lot of new development because a lot of people moving from here from California and other places. So, it’s developing,” said resident Niypati Acharya.

“With more people comes more revenue. I believe that this is going to be one of the biggest cities in Texas is, within the next ten years I would say, and then span out across the nation,” said Summers.

According to the city, the project is expected to be completed within the next five years.
