Caylee Cowan and her boyfriend, Casey Affleck, have an unshakeable bond — on- and offscreen.
“We support each other by helping each other, doing the dishes and getting groceries and how anyone would support someone in their life,” Cowan, 26, exclusively told Us Weekly on Friday, November 1, at Darren Dzienciol’s Haunted Hotel in Los Angeles. “And reading each other’s scripts.”
According to Cowan, she and the 49-year-old Oscar winner often give each other their “thoughts and opinions” on story lines and characters when they’re picking future projects.
The Manchester by the Sea star and Cowan were first linked in November 2021 when they were seen packing on the PDA in Los Angeles. The pair went Instagram official several days later.
While Affleck and Cowan often keep their relationship low-key, they will next spend the upcoming holidays with loved ones.
“I like to spend time with family. I love to do Friendsgiving. I mean, for Christmas, I love Christmas and I love gifting people. That’s my love language,” Cowan said on Friday, without mentioning whether Affleck would be in attendance. “I’ve been really fortunate to receive a lot of gifting from brands, and so I love to give my friends skincare and makeup, and think about the person and then give them a gift that I’m like, ‘I think that you would love this, or you need this in your life and you don’t have it yet.’”
Cowan’s Friendsgiving, in particular, will play host to “everybody [and] everyone.”
“Even, like, acquaintances,” she explained to Us. “ All my friends get together and then they’re like, ‘Oh, I didn’t even know you were friends with this person. I know them from years ago. How do you guys know each other?’ The more the merrier.”
Before Affleck found love with Cowan, he was previously married to ex-wife Summer Phoenix for 10 years. They split in August 2017 with the intention to coparent sons Indiana, now 20, and Atticus, now 16.
“If there are two parents in the world who have figured out how to parent in perfect harmony, they should call me up and tell me their secret and they should write a book and save the world,” Casey previously told Us in June 2019. “In my experience, it’s pretty impossible to not disagree. You both care about your kids so much, more than anything in the world. You both have had different childhoods from which you’re drawing your ideas from and eventually, you’re going to have different opinions and it’s going to be tough to work out.”
He continued at the time, “Luckily, Summer is and always has been an amazing mother. She’s loving and fun and the boys worship her, so I think that even in our differences, she and I have found a nice balance.”
