An illegal alien from El Salvador was arrested April 5 on charges of murdering a man and then dismembering his body.

The suspect, who was just 17 at the time of the murder, has not had his identity released as a result of his status as a minor. He was already on probation at the time of the attack for assaulting his mother.

The Fresno County Sheriff said in a statement:

On Friday, April 5th, homicide detectives with the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office arrested an 18-year-old from Mendota. He has been booked into the Fresno County Juvenile Justice Campus and faces one count of murder. His name is not being released due to him currently being in the juvenile court system. The court has the discretion to transfer this matter to an adult court. That decision will be made at a later time.

On January 17th, 2024, deputies responded to check on a car parked in the middle of an orchard located near Belmont and Washoe Avenues, just west of Mendota. Inside the vehicle was a deceased man whose body had been dismembered. He was later identified as 25-year-old Fraylee Hernandez of Mendota.

During the investigation, detectives identified a primary suspect in this murder. They learned the actual killing took place on January 6th, 2024.  At the time, the suspect was 17 years old.  He turned 18 in February.  The suspect is an undocumented immigrant from El Salvador who is also currently on probation for assaulting his mother.  He and the murder victim were acquaintances.

The case is merely the latest in a long string of murders committed by those who have entered the country illegally.

Just last week, an illegal alien who had been deported on seven separate occasions was charged with murder in Ohio. Fermin Garcia-Gutierrez, 46, is also facing charges of using weapons while intoxicated, carrying concealed weapons, possession of drugs, and obstructing official business.

Last month, RedState reported on the murder of 25-year-old Ruby Garcia at the hands of 25-year-old Brandon Ortiz-Vite, who was also an illegal alien from Mexico. He had, however, received approval for deferred action under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program created under Barack Obama.

In February, there was also the case of Laken Riley, a 22-year-old nursing student in Georgia who was murdered while out running by Jose Antonio Ibarra, a 26-year-old illegal alien from Venezuela who had previously been arrested by authorities on charges of child abuse.

The case led to a major backlash against the Biden administration’s open border policy, as millions of unknown individuals continue to enter the country illegally every year.
