Brighton & Hove Albion are set to complete the signing of striker Stefanos Tzimas from FC Nurnberg.

A fee of £20million with add-ons has been agreed and the 19-year-old has completed a medical.

Brighton’s interest in Tzimas was reported by The Athletic in mid-January. Protracted negotiations to conclude a deal have been complicated by the player’s situation.

Tzimas is on loan to Nurnberg for the season in Bundesliga 2 from Greek side PAOK, with a buy option in the arrangement worth £15million.

Nurnberg will activate the option, enabling him to join up with Brighton in June at the end of his loan.

Tzimas has impressed in Germany’s second tier with ten goals and two assists in 17 appearances, playing as a No 9.

The Greece youth international also has experience as a left-sided attacker with PAOK at youth level and for his country at junior level.

Brighton’s 20-year-old Republic of Ireland striker Evan Ferguson is poised to complete his straight loan move for the rest of the season to West Ham United today.

Brighton are still pursuing a deal for 18-year-old Sunderland winger Tommy Watson. Further outgoing transfers of under-21 players are in the pipeline before the window closes tonight.
