Reports are emerging that a protest march of immigrants and other disgruntled New Yorkers is erupting in Manhattan. The protesters are carrying signs that accuse President-elect Donald Trump of being racist, fascist, sexist, anti-gay, and anti-trans. They are also protesting against mass deportation and “systematic oppression”:

A day after the election, Trump spoke with New York City Mayor Eric Adams, and the two discussed how to make positive changes for the city. Then, Adams abruptly ended the immigrant food voucher program that has cost the city at least $3.6 million since March of this year. Adams, a Democrat, has been vocal about the immigrant crisis and the strain that the massive influx of asylum seekers has put on city funds and services, as well as his disappointment in the response from the federal government.

Many of the protesters are immigrants and are holding signs that say “No to anti-immigrant laws.”

The protesters seem to think that they can protest the election of the lawfully elected 47th president of our country. They are making it clear that although Trump won in a landslide victory, there is a minority that will not allow this transition to go smoothly. In fact, the slogan on their banner says, “We will not back down.”
Ironically, Trump won more Hispanic votes than any other Republican candidate. According to exit polls, he got 45 percent of the Latino vote.
Others were protesting “Fascist Trump”.

And others had signs that said, “This world does not belong to the 1%.”

Trump broke all the molds with this election, including the Latino vote already mentioned, and he also won more black votes than any Republican in 48 years, won more voters under 30 than any since 2008, became the first candidate to sweep all seven swing states in 40 years, colored the map of our country red, and won the popular vote.
In other words, a landslide.
