AFC Bournemouth have completed the signing of Julian Araujo from Barcelona.

The Athletic reported on Saturday that the Premier League outfit had agreed a deal worth €10million (£8.4m) with their La Liga counterparts.

The right-back has signed a five-year contract at the Vitality Stadium and becomes the club’s sixth signing of the summer following the arrivals of Luis Sinisterra,
Enes Unal, Alex Paulsen, Daniel Jebbison and Koby Mottoh.

The Mexico international came through Barcelona’s U.S. academy before joining Major League Soccer (MLS) side LA Galaxy in 2018.

He joined Barcelona in the summer of 2023 before completing a loan move to Las Palmas, making 28 appearances for the La Liga club in 2023-24.

He made his senior international debut for Mexico in 2021, and has made 13 appearances for his country since then, although he missed the 2024 Copa America due to a hamstring injury.

Andoni Iraola’s side begin the new Premier League campaign against Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

They will be without their top goalscorer from last term, Dominic Solanke, who has joined Tottenham Hotspur after five years at the south coast club.
