The Athletic has live coverage of Chiefs vs Eagles in Super Bowl LIX, and Kendrick Lamar’s halftime performance.
Super Bowl commercials are a big focus every year, even if some people love to hate them more than enjoy them, because nostalgia makes everyone think, “Back in my day, things were so much better.” To be fair, from the 2017-2020-ish period, we had a few too many way-too-serious, overly long, safe and boring ones to remind us of things we don’t need help remembering. But, nothing beats a great Super Bowl commercial, and the 2025 commercials have some amusing and fun hits.
Jump into the comments below to talk about your favorite, most-hated or where Jake is way wrong.
A couple quick notes on the criteria:
- I skipped most of the same ol’ (non-funny) car commercials, banking, and such… it was pointless and they weren’t coming anywhere close to the Top 10… or 20.
- This column will be updated throughout Sunday night, as more commercials are aired.
- Movie trailers don’t count. That’s a different category entirely and they’d dominate.
And now for the best Super Bowl commercials (and worst)…
Best Super Bowl commercials 2025
1. Stella Artois: David & Dave
Couple good chuckles, and then a real laugh out loud at, “That’s a shame.”
2. Mountain Dew: Kiss From a Lime
Seal as a seal. Kiss from a lime song bringing back memories of Batman Forever (as terrible as it was). This was pretty memorable and good.
3. Pringles: The Call of The Mustaches
Nick Offerman for the win, please never shave Andy Reid, and Batman theme as “mustache.”
4. Reeses: Don’t Eat Lava
Grandma trying to drive her scooter into the lava. This one was a win.
5. GoDaddy: Act Like You Know
My favorite version of Walton Goggins is from Justified, then Fallout, but yes, the eighth-grade-level “Uranus” joke got me.
6. Coors Light: Slow Monday
I’ve held a sloth, and this was as enjoyable! Plenty of laughs, although they missed on the chance to do a sloth laughing callback from Zootopia.
7. Hellmann’s: When Sally Met Hellmann’s
All the callbacks, all the awkwardness of people wondering what you changed the channel to on the TV.
8. Totino’s Pizza Rolls: Chazmo Goes Home
Shout out to the parents, who the alien never cares about!
9. Michelob ULTRA: The ULTRA Hustle
Something about Willem Dafoe in a comedy spot will always get my vote. Randy Moss extra bonus points!
10. SToK Cold Brew Coffee: Hollywood Magic
I’m sure plenty of women — like the ones at my Super Bowl party — enjoyed this more than I did, but I still laughed at the player trying not to break, and the ending.
JUST Missed the Top 10
Uber Eats: Turn Back Time
I laughed — audibly — and a good amount at, “She both young and old… at the same time.” Nothing has been truer in describing Cher.
Coors Light: Case of the Mondays
I chuckled, but I also spent more time trying to figure out if I knew who he was, or seen anything he was in, than laughing at Timothy Simons.
Bud Light: Big Men On Cul-de-sac
Doritos. Bud Light. What’s left for Post Malone? Fun-ish commercial, I guess.
Doritos: Charades
Chuckled… and thought he felt like a Jack Black knock-off.
Squarespace: Barry and Mosley
Maybe this doesn’t work for everyone, but something about it amused me.
Assorted Fun Miscellany
Dunkin Donuts: Bean Method
The DunKings was great … but we’ve jumped the shark.
Doritos: The Barbershop
Equal parts haha and gross!
Meta: Who Eats Art?
The Chris-es. Thor and Star-Lord. Eh, it’s fine.
WeatherTech: Whatever Comes Your Way
Simple concept — even been done — but it gets points for holding my (and most everyone’s) interest throughout, and it might be the first WeatherTech commercial that’s memorable.
NERDS: What a Wonderful World
Seeing as how I found the best candy … EVER … back in 2020 and have been trying to spread the word since, Gummy Clusters will always have a special place in my heart.
Walmart: Add $10 more for free shipping
Me: DONE!

Uber Eats: A Century of Cravings
Overall, some fun spots like Kevin Bacon, but the Peyton Manning, “Omaha, steaks,” was the best part … though not enough to crack the Top 10.
Uber Eats: Matthew McConaughey becomes Mike Ditka
Matthew McConaughey overexposure anyone?
Booking.com: Get Your Stay Ridiculously Right
Should have had Mack Hollins in this. Missed opportunity.
Instacart: We’re Here
This was made for ’90s and 2000s kids, right? That’s why most of us chuckled a bit.
Inspirational/Feel Good/Warm and Fuzzy
Budweiser: First Delivery
Budweiser drops one of the “horse with feels” every year, but I think they missed a big chance to include the frogs — “Bud. Weis. Er!” — when the keg dropped in the stream.
LAY’S: The Little Farmer
A feel-good commercial, I guess, but who wants to tell her that one potato wouldn’t even fill a snack-sized bag? They would have never noticed.
Mehsville (Worst)
OIKOS: Surprising Strength
The fake AI-produced videos on Instagram look more real than this nonsense.
NerdWallet: Genius Beluga
Here’s how you know an ad didn’t work: I was so focused on the whale and whether I was supposed to laugh (waiting for real jokes) that I missed the point of this commercial.
HexClad: Unidentified Frying Object
Even Pete Davidson couldn’t save this one or bring a real laugh.
Texas Pete: The Tale of Texas Pete
Hot sauce theme song. Whatever.
DoorDash: Wine Pairing
Did nothing for me other than make me remember True Lies and that we never got a sequel.
Best Buy: Detail Matters
Are they mocking NFL fans? Mocking TV tech-heads? I don’t know.
Haagen-Daez: Not So Fast, Not So Furious
Meh. I’m only here for The Rock kicking Vin Diesel’s teeth in at this point.
Angel Soft: FOX
Toilet paper on your shoe is as funny as this commercial … it isn’t.
Uber Eats: When You’ve Done Enough
Soooooo much effort for so little enjoyment … laughs … anything.
Uber Eats: Charli XCX Explains Football
I’m sure there is a target group for this, but I’m not it.
Uber Eats: We Listen & We Don’t Judge
The more you say, “We Don’t Judge,” doesn’t make it any funnier.
