Barry Plant’s network-wide appraisal drive, dubbed the “Call-lympics,” has resulted in more than 1800 appraisals booked during two short call bursts.

Offices across the Barry Plant network competed to achieve the result, with the event broadcast live via a central control room.

Participants donned lycra and headbands as individuals and offices hit the phones to battle it out for gold, silver, and bronze awards across five different team and individual categories covering both sales and property management.

Chief Executive Officer, Lisa Pennell, said the group’s unique and collaborative culture was one of the keys to its success.

“It’s still fiercely competitive but in the most fun and supportive way,” Ms Pennell said.

“There’s a genuine desire to help each other and our customers.

“Participants on the day really embraced the challenge and turned it into an absolute smash.”

The creative concept of the ‘Call-lympics’ was the third factor, which Ms Pennell described as “genius, especially given the intense appetite for competitive sport in Melbourne”.

She said the group had identified potential call lists with the help of their CRM, that identified customers who were most likely to want to hear from them.

“We are now successfully using technology to streamline and enhance relationship building rather than expecting technology to replace the human connection,” she said.

Head of Marketing, Monika Kamienowska, emphasised the importance of such initiatives.

“The key objective wasn’t only to provide our network with the opportunity to connect with clients in an enjoyable and unique way, it was also about building and encouraging strong culture amongst the office teams,” Ms Kamienowska said.

Franchise Development Manager Chris Hill said the result was an exceptional achievement.

“Importantly, every participant walked away victorious, having had the opportunity to connect with new and existing clients, rejuvenate their prospecting skills, and support one another as we all gear up for the dynamic and promising Spring season,” Mr Hill said.

The Gold, Silver and Bronze winners for the top office for sales appraisals were Barry Plant Manningham, Barry Plant Glenroy and Barry Plant Ballarat respectively.

The winners for the top agent for sales appraisals were Richard Ali from Barry Plant Glenroy who took the gold spot, Stan Michael from Barry Plant Rowville tooksSilver, and Shane Finch from Barry Plant Ballarat was awarded bronze.

For rental appraisals, Barry Plant Bayside took gold, with Barry Plant Ballarat and Barry Plant Narre Warren sharing silver, and Barry Plant Essendon-Keilor East taking bronze.

The top individual scorers for rental appraisals were Melanie Schofield from Barry Plant Narre Warren (gold), Jose Panamemo from Barry Plant Essendon-Keilor East (silver), and Angie Finch from Barry Plant Ballarat (bronze).
