Barcelona winger Ansu Fatu will be unavailable for the next four weeks due to a hamstring injury.

The 22-year-old sustained the issue during a training session on Wednesday.

Barcelona confirmed that Fati had “ suffered a muscular injury in the biceps femoris of his right thigh” and is expected to miss about a month of action.

Barcelona fans have high hopes for Ansu Fati. Can he shine again under Hansi Flick?

The setback is the latest for a player whose career has been blighted by recurring injury issues.

Fati burst onto the scene as a 17-year-old in 2019, eventually taking Lionel Messi’s vacant Barcelona No 10 shirt in 2021.

However, following a serious knee injury in November 2020, Fati has struggled to maintain fitness in recent years. He missed 14 games of his 2023-24 season-long loan spell at Brighton & Hove Albion due to a calf issue.

The Spain international has made seven appearances in all competitions after returning to Barcelona this season, with just one of those being a start.

Barcelona, who are six points clear at the top of La Liga, are next in action against Celta Vigo on November 23.
