NC State stunned Stanford with a second-half rally Friday night in Portland to advance to the Elite Eight for the third time in school history, but the second time in the past three seasons under coach Wes Moore. The Wolfpack had a remarkable third quarter, outscoring Stanford 28-10, to shift the entire momentum of the game.

Guard Aziaha James was sensational, scoring 29 points on 8-of-14 shooting, including 3 of 5 from beyond the arc. When the game was over, NC State players lifted their hands into the air and skipped to the small but mighty cheering section there to support them.

Stanford, meanwhile, will leave Moda Center searching for questions this offseason after another early exit in the Tournament. Friday marked the final game of star forward Cameron Brink’s storied career. She fouled out for the second consecutive game, this time with about eight minutes to play.

NC State will play the winner of Texas–Gonzaga next.
