Aston Villa’s Samuel Iling-Junior has completed a season-long loan move to Bologna.
The 20-year-old only moved to Villa Park earlier this summer alongside Enzo Barrenechea from Juventus with both players signed five-year contracts for a combined transfer fee of €22million ($18.6m; $23.6m).
In a separate deal between the clubs, Juventus signed midfielder Douglas Luiz from Villa for €50m.

England Under-21 international Iling-Junior joined Juventus from Chelsea’s academy in 2020 and made 45 first-team appearances for the club, scoring two goals.
The winger was not involved in either of Villa’s matchday squads for their opening two Premier League fixtures against West Ham United and Arsenal respectively.

Leon Bailey and Morgan Rogers have been preferred in wide attacking positions by Unai Emery this season, with Emiliano Buendia and Jaden Philogene, who returned to the club this summer following a season at Hull City, included on Villa’s bench.
Bologna will compete in this season’s Champions League having qualified for the tournament for the first time since 1964.
