Gabriel Martinelli has returned to the Arsenal matchday squad for Sunday’s Premier League match at Manchester United.
Martinelli has not played since suffering a hamstring injury during the Carabao Cup loss at Newcastle United on February 5.
The Brazil international missed the Premier League fixtures against Leicester City, West Ham United and Nottingham Forest, alongside the midweek 7-1 victory at PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League.
The 23-year-old’s return to the squad is a significant boost for Mikel Arteta’s squad, who remain short of attacking options due to long-term injuries for Kai Havertz, Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Jesus.
Jesus — who suffered an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury in January — and Havertz, who tore his hamstring on Arsenal’s warm-weather training trip to Dubai in February, will both miss the rest of the season.
Saka is expected to return this month having undergone surgery on a torn hamstring in December.
Martinelli, who is capable of playing on either flank, has scored seven goals and provided three assists in 35 appearances this campaign.
