With her campaign continuing to teeter on the edge, Kamala Harris and her advisers are desperately searching for ways to reach male voters. Their latest bright idea? Having Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Gov. Tim Walz “play” Madden on a live stream.
As RedState reported, it was as silly as you would imagine. Walz went so far as to suggest Ocasio-Cortez would be Speaker of the House under a Harris administration. I’ve seen some contrived political stunts in my day, but this may be the most inauthentic of the race.

In other news, here’s AOC and Tim Walz attempting to appeal to the youth by pretending to play Madden while talking about Project 2025. 😂 💀

To further that critique, they quit playing at halftime, and no one scored a single point. Yes, the youth football coaching legend himself, who should have been able to trounce someone as unaffiliated with football as Ocasio-Cortez, couldn’t manage to score one point.
The embarrassment didn’t end there, though. There was a tweet that Walz sent out that turned out to be so bad it got deleted.
Why did you delete this tweet?

Far be it from me to question the background of a man as honest as Tim Walz, but I’m beginning to think he never actually coached a down of football. “AOC can run a mean pick 6,” the post reads as if a “pick 6” is a play you “run.” Keep in mind that this guy has made his alleged time as an “assistant coach” at a high school a centerpiece of his political story.
With that said, yes, I understand that the post was likely written by some know-nothing Gen-Z intern who has never watched a down of football in their lives. Isn’t that worse, though? The biggest issue facing the Harris campaign is its rampant inauthenticity. Harris herself is infamous for being overly manufactured and hilariously vapid. Walz is not much better, having repeatedly misled people about his past. The last thing that their campaign needs is more evidence it’s as fake as Joe Biden’s hair.
Let’s be honest, though. Who was that session of Madden with Ocasio-Cortez really going to reach? Any man who likes to watch people play virtual football on Twitch no doubt found the scene laughable. It was clear that Ocasio-Cortez wasn’t even playing while Walz ranted about “Project 2025,” unable to score a point against someone not even trying. I think persuadable men are smart enough to see through this stuff.
Walz continues to have been a terrible choice for this presidential ticket. Harris had enough issues on her own. She needed someone refined and politically savvy to try to offset her vast weaknesses. Instead, she chose a side-show who can’t even appeal to the one demographic he’s supposed to be able to appeal to. If Donald Trump wins this election, the selection of Walz will have been a major factor.
