WET START TO WEDNESDAY
More rain is on the way beginning late Tuesday evening and falling through the night. It’s the result of moisture blowing off from the tops of thunderstorms currently south of us. It will be a generally steady rain, but isolated downpours can be expected as well. Precip will begin to wrap up by the mid morning on Wednesday with clouds breaking by the early afternoon. Even with sun in the second half of the day however, it will be a cool one with highs in the low 70s.
TROPICAL STORM DEBBY
Potentially historic flooding is underway across parts of the Southeast over as Debby meanders around the area. Persistent tropical storm force winds and even isolated tornadoes are concerns as well. Tropical moisture from the storm is slowly moving up the coast and will result in rainfall in New England by early Friday.
Tropical downpours will continue through Friday and into the midday portion of Saturday. This will lead to flooding concerns across the region. Over the past couple days, the storm track has been trending quicker and more westerly. This favors heavier rainfall away from the interior and generally less across the region. At least 1-3″ is likely region-wide, with bullseye totals of 3-5″ that will be more likely out west near the Berkshires. Flash flooding will be a concern across any vulnerable areas until Sunday. Skies will quickly clear during the back half of the weekend.
