Animals are Trending in Haute Couture Runways for Spring 2023

Haute couture is a promise of refined art and craftsmanship, regardless of season. Iris Van Herpen presented otherworldly designs in water for Spring 2023 as a tribute to women’s resilience. Maria Grazia Chiuri, Dior, honored Josephine Baker with her collection. The most talked-about trend is, undoubtedly, animal rights. Animals.

Schiaparelli’s “Inferno”, inspired collection includes faux taxidermy that looked almost as real. It already has Kylie Jenner’s endorsement. At Chanel larger-than-life animal statues decorated the set — as though decorating a giant child’s playroom. Virginie viard presented a tweed suit with a sequined Corgis. (Virginie: Confirmed dog person?) Georges Hobeika has added avian-equine appliqués to elegant eveningwear for the Spring 2023. (Oh, and the model was accompanied by a real and well-behaved puppy at his debut.
