Bournemouth head coach Andoni Iraola said his side are “not happy with the point” after Sunday’s 2-2 draw with Tottenham Hotspur.
Iraola’s side led 2-0 in north London thanks to a 42nd-minute goal from Marcus Tavernier and a 65th-minute strike from Evanilson.
But Tottenham got back into the game after a mis-hit cross from Pape Matar Sarr sailed over Kepa Arrizabalaga just two minutes after Bournemouth’s second goal.
Arrizabalaga then conceded a penalty in the 82nd minute which Son Heung-min, on as a half-time substitute, converted. Bournemouth had previously had a goal ruled out for offside just after the break and a Justin Kluivert effort hit the post with the score at 2-1.
“Before coming here, probably it’s not a bad result — a draw, one point,” Iraola told Sky Sports after the game. “But after how the game went, how well the team performed today, definitely we are not happy with the point.
“We should have won the game but we have to be more efficient. It’s not just about the performance, especially at the end of the season. You have to win the games where you are better — I think we were better, we had the most clear chances.
“You have to make the difference in both boxes. They were more clinical or smarter and in the end, more efficient than us.”
The draw lifted Bournemouth above Newcastle United into eighth in the Premier League, with Eddie Howe’s side playing West Ham United on Monday. Tottenham remain 13th, four points behind 12th-placed Brentford.
