There have been a lot of bad responses to Joe Biden’s unprecedented pardon of his son Hunter for anything that he might have done between Jan. 1, 2014, and Dec. 1, 2024.

Perhaps one of the worst was from Esquire. As we reported, they put out a ridiculous article claiming that President George H.W. Bush pardoned his son Neil on the way out the door, so “Shut the f— up about Hunter Biden, please.”‘

Except there was a small problem. That wasn’t even close to being true. There was no such pardon, and they subsequently deleted the article.

But I guess “The View” host Ana Navarro wanted to challenge Esquire for the dumbest response. She took a similar tack, trying to justify the Hunter Biden pardon by listing other pardons that had been granted in the past. This is definitely the funniest defense of the pardon.

Woodrow Wilson pardoned his brother-in-law, Hunter deButts.

Bill Clinton pardoned his brother, Roger.Donald Trump pardoned his daughter’s father-in-law, Charlie Kushner.

And just appointed him Ambassador to France.

But tell me again how Joe Biden “is setting precedent”?

Neither Roger Clinton nor Charles Kushner got the breadth of pardon that Hunter Biden got; they were given pardons for specific crimes. Plus, Kushner had already served his time for his crime. He didn’t get off scot-free like Hunter.

But there was another problem with what Navarro said. “Woodrow Wilson pardoned his brother-in-law, Hunter deButts.”

Really? Well, no. Not at all. If that name sounds made up, it’s because it is. There was no such pardon, just like the Esquire story, only funnier because of the name and the fact that Navarro would fall for/push such a thing.

That says everything about her accuracy.

She then dropped an excuse, blaming ChatGPT, “Hey Twitter sleuths, thanks for taking the time to provide context. Take it up with ChatGPT,” and posted laughing emojis, not caring at all that made her look even worse that she would use that and then not even check it.

ChatGPT is full of mistakes and anyone being serious wouldn’t rely on that.

She got mocked into next week.
