Amazon said today that it will host its Prime Day-like sales event, “Prime Big Deals Day,” on October 8-9. For the last two years, the ecommerce company has scheduled its fall event in October and has continued that tradition this year.

Apart from the U.S., this event will take place in countries including Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, the U.K., and Turkey. Amazon will hold Big Deals Day in Japan later in October.

Prime Members will have a deal for them every five minutes during the event, the company said. It has also prepared a holiday gift guide along. Earlier this year, Amazon made its AI shopping assistant Rufus available to all U.S.-based users. And it will hope that more shoppers use it.

“Exclusive savings events like Prime Big Deal Days combined with unlimited fast, free delivery of 300+ million products across more than 35 categories year-round put Prime in a class of its own and make membership a better value than ever before,” Jamil Ghani, vice president of Prime Worldwide said in a statement.

According to analysts, Amazon’s Prime Day held in July was a successful endeavor for the company, with a record $14.2 billion in sales. Adobe noted that 49.3% of sales were initiated from a phone rather than other devices. The company noted that during the holiday season this year, mobile shopping will drive 53% of online sales.

Amazon’s ecommerce sales in the US are expected to total $491.65 billion in 2024 — up 10.5% from the last year, according to data from analytics firm Emarketer. The data also suggested that Amazon still remains the biggest ecommerce retailer in the country, with a 40.4% market share.
