Chile forward Alexis Sanchez is considering an offer from his former club Udinese.

Sanchez, 35, is a free agent following the expiration of his contract with Udinese’s Serie A counterparts, Inter Milan.

The exact terms of the contract have not been finalised but both parties are keen to find a resolution that will enable Sanchez to return to the club.

Sanchez joined Udinese from River Plate in 2008 and went on to contribute 21 goals and 20 assists in 112 appearances.

Those numbers earned him a move to Barcelona where he won the La Liga title in 2012-13.

He scored 46 goals in 141 appearances in all competitions in Spain before joining Arsenal, where he went on to win two FA Cups under then-manager Arsene Wenger.

After a torrid 18-month spell at Manchester United he joined Inter Milan on an initial season-long loan deal in 2019 before making the move permanent a year later.

Having spent the 2022-23 campaign on loan at Marseille, he returned to Inter last season, scoring two goals in 23 appearances as the Nerazzurri won the Serie A title by 19 points from city rivals AC Milan.

He has scored 51 goals in 166 appearances for his country, making him is Chile’s all-time record scorer.
