Adrien Rabiot has completed his move to Marseille on a free transfer.
The Athletic reported on Sunday that Rabiot was set to join the Ligue 1 side and sign a two-year contract. The midfielder will wear the No 25 for Marseille.
Rabiot was a free agent having left Juventus at the end of last season. He initially joined on a free transfer in 2019 after his contract at Paris Saint-Germain expired. The 29-year-old made 212 appearances for the Italian club and won one Serie A title and two Coppa Italia trophies.
The France international had previously been linked with a Premier League move. Last summer, Manchester United made contact with Rabiot’s representatives over a proposed move to Old Trafford. However, he went on to sign a one-year contract extension with Juventus. Rabiot also came close to a move to United in the summer of 2022, but the club were unable to agree personal terms with him.

At international level, Rabiot has won 48 caps for France since making his debut in 2014 and started five of their six matches at this summer’s European Championship, only missing their quarter-final against Portugal due to suspension. He was not, though, included in Didier Deschamps’ squad for September’s Nations League matches against Italy and Belgium earlier this month.
Rabiot joins a Marseille side that recruited extensively over the summer after installing Roberto De Zerbi as their new head coach. Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Jonathan Rowe, Mason Greenwood, Geronimo Rulli and Elye Wahi were among their new signings.
Marseille have started the season with three wins and a draw from their opening four games. De Zerbi’s side travel to rivals Lyon on Sunday for their next match.
