Did Kamala Harris finally find the “joy” that was so noticeably missing in her failed presidential campaign, especially in the final stretch, where she turned bitter and vitriolic?

In newly-released photos posted by her niece, the vice president looks pretty cheery for the woman who just suffered a historic electoral drubbing. Maybe she knew she wasn’t up to running the country for at least the next four years?

Her niece posted the pics on Saturday:

A social media post from Kamala Harris’ niece has shed some light on what the vice president’s life is looking like after losing the presidential election to Donald Trump.

The new photographs, shared by Meena Harris on Saturday, show the Democratic nominee sitting cross-legged on the ground playing Connect 4 with her two great-nieces while enjoying a glass of white wine.

“Back to where it all began only a few months ago. My eternal gratitude to everyone who showed up. We love her so much,” Meena Harris wrote.

The 60-year-old presidential candidate can be seen wearing a sweatshirt from her alma mater Howard University while playing the old-school game with her niece’s two daughters.

Meena, 40, who is a Stanford and Harvard-educated lawyer, a children’s book author, and a media executive, has consistently used her platform to promote her aunt — especially after she became the Democratic nominee for president.

What Will Kamala Harris Do Now?

To me, this is the first even remotely relatable moment I’ve seen from the vice president since she took office almost four years ago. It reminded me of a similar moment in 2016 from the last female presidential candidate Trump defeated, Hillary Clinton, when a woman came across her hiking near her Chappaqua, New York, home. Although Hillary was reportedly cheery, we all know that she was devasted by the loss, because she has reminded us of that almost daily for nearly a decade now.

A mom left “heartbroken” by Hillary Clinton’s stunning presidential election loss got a surprise Thursday when she ran into the former secretary of state, who was hiking with her dogs.

“I’ve been feeling so heartbroken since yesterday’s election and decided what better way to relax than take my girls hiking,” Margot Gerster said in a post on Facebook featuring a photo of herself and the onetime first lady.

The difference in my view is that Hillary desperately wanted the presidency despite her many faults, had prepared for it for years, and had the policy credentials to have done the job (although we would certainly not have liked her approach to it). Harris, on the other hand, has shown throughout her vice presidency and especially throughout her campaign that she is unable to speak coherently in public, often seems ill-prepared, and comes off across—especially with that cackle—as dangerously unserious. We dodged a bullet on November 5.

For her sake, I hope she does find happiness in whatever she decides to do, but the presidency is only for a very special few, and she simply wasn’t one of them.
