President Donald Trump was in transit to Mar-a-Lago at Joint Base Andrews on Friday, where reporters were asking him questions, including about the stopgap CR spending bill.
Trump said that he appreciates Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, who voted to move the bill procedurally ahead. He said he thought Schumer did the right thing.

Schumer did that despite a transparent threat from House Democrats about having Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) primary him if he didn’t change his mind. That may have backfired on them.
The CR then ultimately passed on Friday, giving Trump a big win, with vote 54-38. That’s good news because it means Trump will be able to get more of what he wants to achieve done.

But as Trump was standing there, answering questions from reporters about concerns over Gaza, one of the reporters pushed a boom mic right into his face, hitting him. I don’t think she meant to hit him, it looked like an accident. But the look on his face was priceless; it was something else–a legendary, icy stare.

It definitely surprised Trump. He took it very well, considering.
“She just became a big story tonight,” he said jokingly, laughing it off. “Did you see that?”
But that’s Trump, he always employs humor, with so many of the weird situations that have been thrown at him.

I know they probably vet the reporters and it looks like it didn’t hurt him at all. But really, that’s much too close. The mic doesn’t have to be right in his face. They need to reevaluate how close they are letting people get.
I’m not sure who it was, but a lot of the media are not fans of Trump’s, as we all know, although I don’t think it was purposeful. I think we’re probably all a little sensitive on such things after the assassination attempts. Given those kinds of threats, the Secret Service have to be very careful about everything, and I hope they’re checking such equipment. I’m wondering if the Secret Service are planning on having a discussion with that person.
I’m not sure I heard an apology from the reporter in that clip either; that might have been a good idea, when you bump the President of the United States like that.
