The big news of the day was the implosion of the meeting at the White House between President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance, and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. They were supposed to be signing a mineral deal later on Friday.
Trump reportedly was so disturbed by what he viewed as Zelensky’s behavior in the Oval Office that he booted him out of the office, cancelled the press conference, and gave away the lunch they were supposed to have together to the White House press staffers.

But perhaps nothing said it more than the reaction of the Ukrainian Ambassador to the U.S. Oksana Markarova, who was sitting there watching the implosion alongside the media.

Markarova came in thinking they were going to be signing the mineral deal, and then it all blew up.

When even Sen. Lindsay Graham (R-SC), who is probably one of the bigger Ukraine supporters among the Republicans, is praising Trump and Vance, and saying that Zelensky should “resign or change,” you know that Zelensky bought himself a huge problem.

Lindsey Graham Calls for Zelensky to Resign After Disrespectful Meeting With Trump and Vance
Graham said he thought that China, Iran, or anyone who thought that they were going to get over on the U.S. just got a rude awakening, and that “Moscow’s more afraid than ever.”
Graham said Americans wouldn’t want to deal with Zelensky when he behaved like that. He also said,. “I’ve never been more proud of Trump and Vance for standing up for America.”
Ukraine has to be scrambling at this point; how they can clean this up. All they had to do was go in and sign the deal, listen, and be polite. But they blew that big time when Zelensky went off the rails in the meeting.
Trump said afterward he was still looking to find a way to peace. So we’ll have to see what can still come out of this, if anything. Trump wants the war to be over. But Zelensky didn’t help his country with this whole embarrassing incident. He’s going on with Fox News’ Bret Baier in an interview, and he’s doubtless going to try to salvage this to sign the deal.
