Some might suggest that mocking former Vice President Kamala Harris is cruel at this point considering she lost the bitterly contested 2024 election to the Democrats’ arch-nemesis, Donald Trump, after three-plus months of media fangirling, Hollywood hand-holding, and a 24-7 campaign of outright gaslighting the American people.

But considering how close she came to becoming the leader of the free world, not to mention the possibility that she has her sights set on the California governor’s office – or even a possible 2028 presidential run – the mockery is entirely appropriate and most certainly will continue for the foreseeable future.

Harris, of course, has become infamous for her word salads. It’s even been argued that they are one thing that helped doom her 2024 presidential campaign. Most recently, she shared another one after winning the Chairman’s Award during the NAACP Image Awards Ceremony Saturday in a speech that in a week or so will be considered largely forgettable.

Two weeks ago, the twice-failed presidential candidate was in her home state of California touring areas devastated by the Palisades wildfires when she gave a brief interview to local reporters who wanted to know her thoughts on what she’d seen.  As we reported at the time, she gave one word salad after another,

The one below was perhaps the most confusing of them all, though. She was asked by Fox LA’s Elex Michaelson “What goes through your mind when you see this? You’re here, you’re now seeing it up close.” Here was her response:

“It’s not only seeing it, Elex, you can smell it. You can feel it, right? So it’s seeing it with our eyes and many people have seen it, you all are covering it. But to literally be on the ground here, you can smell the, the, the, the, the, the smoke that was here. You can feel the, the toxicity, frankly, of the environment. You can feel the energy of all of the folks who are still here on the ground.”

Watch:

Harris was previously blasted for comments she made in mid-January about the wildfires, where she told frustrated residents that “It’s critically important that, to the extent you can find anything that gives you an ability to be patient in this extremely dangerous and unprecedented crisis, that you do.”

Back to the “smell it” clip, it resurfaced on the Twitter/X machine Monday, and Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT) had a simple yet entirely appropriate response:

Didn’t we though? I mean if Harris was in office right now instead of Trump, not only would she have kept Biden’s policies in place but she would have tried to build upon them to drag the country even further to the left, well past the point of no return. It’s another timely reminder, as we say around these parts, that the Lord indeed works in mysterious ways, something we’ve seen throughout our nation’s history.
