As RedState’s Bonchie reported earlier Sunday, bitter, race-baiting MSNBC anchor Joy Reid was finally fired. That it took so long after all the hate she has spewed out on the airwaves is stunning, as Bonchie wrote:

I suppose MSNBC deserves some credit for finally making the necessary move, but only a little. They let Reid fester and spread her mouth-breathing hate for far longer than they should have, and it shouldn’t have taken an over 50 percent drop in ratings to get to this point.

Naturally, the news caused lots of reaction on social media because both liberals and conservatives had thoughts: Republican pundits are slightly sorry to see her go because she was so good at illustrating the insanity that is today’s hard left, while for leftists, it’s a sad day when one of their most venomous ideologues will no longer be able to help incite discord during prime time.

One user thought perhaps it could be Trump and his wife Melania playing 4D chess:

Others brought receipts to remind folks of some of Reid’s completely off-the-reservation hot takes:

Radio host Clay Travis said that it’s actually hard work to fail as spectacularly as Joy Reid and CNN’s former NeverTrump fanatic Jim Acosta:

Actor Michael Rapaport couldn’t help but pile on:

Liberals also had their say, blaming everything from Joe Scarborough to racism while ignoring Reid’s toxicity:

Some liberal commentators slammed the network on the social media platform, Bluesky.

Keith Olbermann, a former MSNBC host, said the network didn’t have a “Joy Reid problem,” but rather a “Joe Scarborough problem,” pointing to the network’s “Morning Joe” co-host. “Until he is fired, MSNBC will not recover. Shuffling tepid shows in and out does nothing,” he continued…

“She’s a blunt Black woman, so of course her show is canceled. Not lost on any of us,” Wajahat Ali, a liberal commentator and writer, reacted.

Dean Obeidallah, a radio show host who has written for CNN and MSNBC, also pointed to the “Morning Joe” hosts — specifically their meeting with Trump, which prompted a lot of backlash at the network — in a post on Bluesky.

Danielle Moodie, the host of the Daily Beast’s “The New Abnormal” podcast, slammed MSNBC for canceling Reid’s show, saying “Everytime MSNBC has a “shakeup” the black woman solo led show is ALWAYS the first to go.”

Cry harder. The reality is that Reid used her show “The ReidOut” to provoke, incite, cause division, and race-bait, and I don’t believe a single American is better off for having watched her. The Reid is out, and it’s about time.

Now, if only:
