Consumers may feel overwhelmed by myriad choices for artificial intelligence (AI) chatbots, with options like OpenAI’s ChatGPT, Anthropic’s Claude, Alphabet’s (GOOG, GOOGL) Gemini, and xAI’s Grok 3.
ZDNET AI reporter Sabrina Ortiz sits down with Wealth host Brad Smith to outline her takeaways from testing various AI chatbot options.
“OpenAI is dominating the space,” Ortiz says. “It’s the name that most people are familiar with … and that’s for good reason; it is a very, very capable chatbot, and even in its free tier, it has robust offerings where anybody that’s a casual user or just interested in experimenting with a chatbot could get a lot of really powerful tools.”
The reporter says that Alphabet’s Gemini “is actually a very, very capable tool,” adding that Google is in “a unique position” given its position as the dominant search engine.
