The Miami Dolphins have released former Pro Bowl running back Raheem Mostert, the team announced on social media Friday.
Mostert’s agent Brett Tessler revealed the news first.
In 15 starts that season, Mostert recorded a career year with 21 total TDs, 209 carries for 1,012 rushing yards and 25 receptions for 175 yards — a notable uptick from his 2022 numbers. Injuries and the presence of second-year standout De’Von Achane in 2024 led to a sharp decline for Mostert, as he recorded 439 yards from scrimmage and just two rushing scores.
With Miami set to enter the 2025 season with a revamped running back room led by Achane, Mostert will now look to join his sixth team, and possibly a contender, in pursuit of his first Lombardi Trophy. He departs Miami with 2,719 scrimmage yards (2,181 rushing) and 28 total TDs in 45 games played with the franchise.
A free-agent acquisition on a one-year deal in 2022, Mostert signed a restructured two-year deal last March that was originally expected to keep him under contract through the 2025 season; his previous extension came in March 2023 for two years and $5.6 million.
The Dolphins will save around $2.9 million in cap space after releasing Mostert, who turns 33 on April 9.
