Professionals Group Australia has appointed Sean Hanneberry as its new Chief Executive Officer, marking a move towards innovation and growth for the national real estate network.

Mr Hanneberry brings 25 years of business leadership experience from Australia and the United Kingdom to the role, where he will lead the transformation of the group’s 150-office network.

The appointment signals a bold new direction for Professionals, with a renewed focus on innovation, excellence and growth across the network.

Having built his career working with some of Australia’s most recognised brands, Mr Hanneberry, 51, has held executive leadership positions including Managing Director of global consultancy Sapient Nitro and Strategy Director of Clemenger BBDO.

“My goal is to build a future where Professionals is not just competing in the market, but defining it,” Mr Hanneberry said.

“The real estate industry is undergoing significant change with customer expectations, technology, and marketing strategies evolving rapidly.

“The brands that succeed will only be those that connect, engage and create real value for their clients.”

Professionals Chairman Ben Stevens welcomed the appointment, highlighting Mr Hanneberry’s expertise in business growth and innovation.

“Sean has built a career working with some of Australia’s most recognised brands and understands the evolving landscape of real estate,” Mr Stevens said.

“His extensive expertise in business growth, combined with his passion for innovation, makes him the ideal leader to drive our network forward to an exciting new chapter.”

Mr Hanneberry replaces former CEO Katherine Gonzalez-Cork, who stepped down in late 2024.

The board acknowledged Ms Gonzalez-Cork’s exceptional contribution to the network’s expansion and people-focused initiatives.

Mr Hanneberry acknowledged the group’s heritage, established in 1976 by independent agents seeking collaborative opportunities.

“Professionals has a rich almost 50-year history, built on integrity, service, and community. We have a strong foundation for a strong future,” he said.

“The power of Professionals lies in its people, our business owners and their teams, who bring the brand to life every day.”
