Brighton & Hove Albion’s move for Brondby midfielder Clement Bischoff appears to have collapsed.

The Athletic previously reported that Brighton had lined up a deal to sign the 19-year-old this summer in a deal worth around  €8million ($8.33m; £6.65m).

However, that transfer has now collapsed after the two clubs could not agree a deal to complete the transfer.

A left-sided player, the Denmark youth international has been deployed at left-back as well as on the left side of midfield.

He has made 25 appearances in all competitions for Brondby this campaign, scoring two goals and providing eight assists. He has also made two appearances for Denmark’s under-21 side.

Bischoff is the nephew of former Mikkel Bischoff — a former centre-back whose career included stints at Manchester City, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Sheffield Wednesday, and Coventry City.

Brighton, who are tenth in the Premier League, face Chelsea in the FA Cup on Saturday.
