George Soros getting into the radio business is turning out about as well as you’d expect.
As RedState’s Bob Hoge reported last February, Soros, the left’s sneering billionaire backer who funds all things hard-left and radical, bought a large stake in more than 200 Audacy radio stations, including stations in larger American markets like New York City and Los Angeles.
Even though the move hasn’t attracted a ton of attention, it’s anything but funny, as the financier is likely to exert his influence over the network to promote his anti-American socialist viewpoint.
He’s pumped in over $400 million to the effort:
George Soros is poised to take a massive stake in the nation’s second-largest radio company, which owns more than 220 stations nationwide, according to court filings and sources close to the situation.
The left-leaning billionaire’s Soros Fund Management has bought up $400 million of debt in Audacy — the No. 2 US radio broadcaster behind iHeartMedia with stations including New York’s WFAN and 1010 WINS, as well as Los Angeles-based KROQ, according to bankruptcy filings.
Buying into the radio market wasn’t merely a calculated decision designed to expand Soros’s already extensive business portfolio, of course, because everything he does is designed to amplify his radical political views. It was speculated at the time that Soros was moving into the radio market as a means to affect the results of the 2024 presidential election. Having failed on that front, it looks like some of the stations he has monetarily backed have pivoted to sabotaging the Trump administration.
Case in point: KCBS 740 AM out of San Francisco, California, is now being investigated by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) for broadcasting the locations of undercover Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents last week as they swept through the area apprehending illegals.
President Trump’s handpicked FCC commissioner, Brendan Carr, is not amused and has launched an investigation.
The FCC’s Enforcement Bureau has already sent a formal Letter of Inquiry to the radio station as part of the FCC investigation. The Enforcement Bureau proceeding is inquiring whether the radio station–which is licensed to operate by the FCC–is violating the terms of their FCC license, which requires that they operate in the “public interest.” The formal Enforcement Bureau Letter notes that the ICE agents were operating at the time in an area known for violent gang activity.
Here are the specifics (emphasis mine):
On the January 26 edition of “KCBS Radio Weekend News,” it revealed specific information about undercover ICE agents who were “carrying out an operation on the east side of town.”
“The Santa Clara County Rapid Response Network, which is a community defense projecting system for immigrant communities against deportation threats, first report the activity on its platforms,” the host told listeners.
The “KCBS Radio Weekend News” host then revealed the specific make, color and model of several unmarked vehicles used in the operation. The station also revealed the exact locations of several ICE agents working in the area.
It seems clear enough that KCBS 740 AM was working to help illegals—and likely very violent illegals, the ones whose deportations have been prioritized by the Trump administration—escape capture, something that is most certainly not in the public interest.
Worse yet, the irresponsible actions of KCBS put a target squarely on the backs of those ICE agents as they operated in an extremely unsafe and volatile environment. California is currently a hotbed of anti-ICE activity, with hordes of illegals swarming Los Angeles-area highways, assaulting law enforcement, and demanding they be allowed to stay in the United States, all while waving the flags of their home countries. Hardly sympathetic characters, this lot.

The major problem here is that George Soros specializes in funding chaos, having been tied to the pro-Hamas crowds that have been rampaging across college campuses, and, before them, the Black Lives Matter riots of 2020. And now, through his investment in radio stations, he has a megaphone through which he can spin up even more violence. Let’s face it: It wouldn’t bother George Soros one bit if the ICE agents were attacked while rounding up illegals (aka, potential Democrat voters).
Luckily, we’re now in America’s golden age, and President Trump has his guy running the FCC. And that guy ain’t playing around, with Commissioner Carr stating: “I want to express my thanks and appreciation to DHS and ICE agents. These law enforcement professionals are honorably serving this country and carrying out vital missions. Their safety is paramount. The FCC will hold broadcasters accountable for complying with their public interest obligations.”
