Mr Ferguson, who co-founded Real Time Agent and successfully scaled it to become one of Australia’s largest PropTech companies in just three years, joined Domain when they acquired his company in 2019.
During his tenure, Mr Ferguson has been instrumental in integrating Real Time Agent into Domain’s operations, building the Customer Solutions team, and establishing strong industry relationships through his advocacy work.
Domain Chief Commercial Officer and Managing Director Agent Experience, John Foong, praised Mr Ferguson’s contributions to the company.
“We’re so proud of everything Gus and his team accomplished with Real Time Agent, and can’t wait to see what he does next,” Mr Foong said.
“While he’s stepping down from his full-time role at Domain, Gus will continue to work with us in an advocacy capacity, helping to connect Domain with the industry as we shape our strategy moving forward.”
The departure, scheduled for February 21, marks a strategic move for Ferguson as he plans to return to his entrepreneurial roots in the startup ecosystem.
However, he will maintain ties with Domain through an ongoing advocacy role, ensuring continuity in industry relationships.
Mr Ferguson said he loved his time with the company.
“It’s been an amazing experience working with such a talented team at Domain, and I’m really proud of what we’ve built and achieved with Real Time Agent,” Mr Ferguson said.
“I’m excited to return to the startup world and feel confident the teams I’ve helped build are set up for great success.”
The transition comes at a time when Domain continues to strengthen its digital offerings and market position.
Under Mr Ferguson’s leadership, the Customer Solutions team has developed robust foundations for future growth.
“I look forward to staying involved with Domain and seeing all that we’ve achieved continue to grow,” Mr Ferguson said.
