The catch-up begins with our three takeaways from yesterday and one of the biggest done deals from over the weekend saw Manchester United complete the signing of Patrick Dorgu from Lecce.

The Athletic reported on January 29 that the clubs had reached a broad agreement over a transfer valued at €30million (£25.2m) plus €5m (£4.2m) in add-ons for the Denmark international.

The 20-year-old has signed a five-and-a-half-year contract to 2030 at Old Trafford with the option of a further 12 months.

Dorgu becomes the second senior player to arrive at United under head coach Ruben Amorim — following the signing of teenage centre-back Ayden Heaven from Arsenal — who has been keen to add reinforcements in the January window amid a run of form that has seen his side slip into the bottom half of the Premier League standings.

The versatile Dorgu, who is left-footed, is capable of playing on either flank and has a profile compatible with Amorim’s preferred 3-4-2-1 formation.
