The Marvel actor purchased the 1960s property in 2012 for US$4 million and invested approximately US$5.5 million in renovations, transforming it into a 9,000-square-foot modern residence while maintaining its Midcentury character.

According to the WSJ, the six-bedroom home features numerous luxury amenities, including a screening room, music studio, and an open-plan living room with a bar area.

The property also boasts an impressive solar energy system that generates 90 per cent of the home’s power needs.

Renner, known for his role as Hawkeye in the Avengers franchise, spoke about the property’s unique community feel.

“You typically don’t get a lot of neighbourly love in Los Angeles,” he told the WSJ.

“This was a wonderful little micro-community.”

The actor, who has flipped more than 20 properties throughout his career, demonstrated his expertise in real estate development with this project.

He doubled the size of the original house while carefully preserving its architectural integrity.

The property played a crucial role in Renner’s recovery following his January 2023 snowplough accident.

“I spent much of the accident’s aftermath in the single-story L.A. house because it didn’t require climbing stairs,” Renner said.

The decision to sell came as Renner focused on his ongoing recovery and new projects.

The actor is currently working on a book about his near-death experience while having recently completed filming the latest season of “Mayor of Kingstown.”

“I need to kind of move on to other things,” Renner said, explaining his decision to downsize and simplify his life following the life-changing accident.

“I did all that stuff because I was going to stay there.

“It was kind of a forever home.”
The sale was finalised by The Beverly Hills Estates.
