In what was an otherwise uneventful CES 2025 press conference, Samsung on Monday announced January 22 as the date for its next Unpacked event. The timing lines up with earlier reporting.

The event, which is being livestreamed through Samsung’s site, will almost certainly serve as a launching pad for the company’s latest flagship phone, the Galaxy S25. The event arrives a few days later than last year’s Unpacked, which debuted the S24 on January 17.

In recent years, Samsung has shifted to a six-month flagship release cycle, which kicks off with the Galaxy S line in January, followed by the latest versions of its Galaxy Z Flip and Galaxy Z Fold foldables halfway through the year.

Much like Monday’s press conference, the company will likely spend much of the event mapping out its plan for “Galaxy AI,” a proprietary attempt to integrate generative AI into its handsets — essentially Samsung’s take of Google Gemini and Apple Intelligence.
