Jeremy Renner isn’t taking his life for granted.

The Marvel star, 53, shared his gratitude via a poignant Instagram post uploaded on Wednesday, January 1 as he reflected on the snow plow accident that nearly killed him two years ago.

Renner was rushed to hospital and broke more than 30 bones after being crushed by a snow plow at his Nevada home on New Year’s Day in 2023. In the Instagram post’s caption, the actor commemorated the two-year anniversary of the near fatal incident.

“Happy New Year blessings to you all…. Ringing in my second “ReBirthday” today I send out my love, respect, and gratitude for the army of people that it took to put me back together again,” he wrote.

Jeremy Renner thanked the doctors, nurses and first responders who helped him one year ago during his near-deadly snowplow accident. “Rollin through Reno, NV with joy, blessings, and 🍕!!!! Stopped by to see kids/superheroes, first responders, and doctors, nurses and staff at Renown hospital,” Renner, 53, shared via Instagram on Friday, December 29. “Paying my […]

“Thank you to each and every nurse, doctor, first responder… I literally owe you my life . All my heart goes out to my beautiful, brave nephew and the angels (my neighbors) who jumped to my aid and endured the chaos for 45 long minutes on the icy asphalt New Years morning. I’m so sorry all the haunting images I imprinted on you all (I’ll spare you all from the meat grinding images )….”

He continued: ”My gratitude list is very long …. With the amount of love and prayers that flooded in from you all around the world (needing each and everyone of them), my family never leaving my side, with some divine intervention, a bit of luck and a whole lot of miracles … I stand strong again. More Open. More Loved. More Connected. And f–king BLESSED to take my next step, to take MY NEXT BREATH. Thank you with every fiber and cell in my body. I love you ALL ❤️. #MyNextBreath.”

Alongside the lengthy caption, Renner shared a post of himself in a hospital bed surrounded by doctors, nurses and hospital staff.

The January 2023 accident saw the actor crushed by a PistenBully, a snow-removal vehicle weighing over 14,330 pounds, near his home while clearing snow with his nephew.

As a result of the accident, Renner suffered more than 38 broken bones, including six broken ribs in 14 places, a broken tibia and a collapsed lung.

“I remember every undulation,” he told Men’s Health in July 2024. “I remember my head cracking on the thing and it just pressing on me — it’s exactly like you think it would feel. An immovable object and a crushing force, and something’s gotta give. But thank God my skull didn’t fully give.”
