North Las Vegas police search for armed, ‘extremely dangerous’ teen accused of shooting, killing man

LAS VEGAS (KLAS)– North Las Vegas police are searching for an armed and “extremely dangerous” teen accused of shooting and killing a man.

On Sunday around 9 a.m., North Las Vegas police responded to a report of a shooting at an apartment in the 2900 block of East Centennial Parkway near North Pecos Road.

When officers arrived, they found a man, later identified by the Clark County Coroner’s office as 33-year-old Correy Dennis, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to his stomach area. He was later pronounced dead.

The suspect left the scene before officers arrived. On Tuesday, police identified the suspect as 16-year-old Arnaz Jones.

Jones is described as a Black 16-year-old boy, with a medium-length afro with black hair and brown eyes. He is 5’6” and weighs 140 pounds. He was last seen wearing a gray hoodie sweatshirt with red, black and white writing on the front and back.

Detectives consider Jones to be armed and “extremely” dangerous. Anyone who sees Jones should not approach him and should call 911 immediately.

Police said the shooting was the result of a disagreement between Dennis and Jones.
