Nvidia has completed its acquisition of Run:ai, an Israeli startup that helps manage and optimize AI hardware infrastructure.

As part of the merger, Run:ai said its software, which currently only works with Nvidia products, will be open sourced, meaning Nvidia rivals like AMD and Intel will be able to adapt it for their hardware.

“We are eager to build on the achievements we’ve obtained until now, expand our talented team, and grow our product and market reach,” Run:ai told Bloomberg in a statement. “Open sourcing the software will enable it to extend its availability to the entire AI ecosystem.”

Nvidia announced its intent to acquire Run:ai in April. At the time, sources told TechCrunch that the price tag was $700 million. But the deal ran into regulatory hurdles. The European Commission and U.S. Department of Justice launched separate investigations into whether Nvidia’s purchase would harm competition.

The European Commission approved the deal in December.
