It’s been a day of fun news. The horrible CR bit the dust to the joy of many. Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis was disqualified–along with all her assistants–from the case against President-elect Donald Trump in Georgia.
That’s not all. We’ve already reported on how MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow reportedly had to take a pretty huge pay cut of $5 million on her $30 million salary. It’s hard to imagine they would even pay her that. But it’s because the ratings have gone in the dumper, and changes being wrought by Comcast.

Liberal Media Keeps Taking It on the Chin As MSNBC Takes Ratings Face Plant With Young People
Now, there’s more word about others having to take the hit as well, and it’s great:
MSNBC’s Joy Reid and Stephanie Ruhle will reportedly need to take a pay cut if they want to remain in their anchor chairs as the struggling cable network continues to cut costs.
The left-leaning news channel — which recently gave star anchor Rachel Maddow a $5 million-a-year haircut from her annual $30 million haul — has been negotiating with Reid and Ruhle on new deals at reduced salaries, according to the Ankler newsletter.
The controversial Reid is believed to be earning $3 million a year to host her nightly 8 p.m. show, “The ReidOut,” according to the Washington Free Beacon.
The NY Post story added that Ruhle is making $2 million for hosting “The 11th Hour,” and Jonathan Lemire, who was just made a co-host on “Morning Joe,” was also offered a reduced contract.
It’s hard to believe that anyone would pay Joy Reid that much money, especially when she attacks millions of Americans because they’re Trump supporters. Maybe that’s one of the reasons MSNBC is in big trouble — poor decisions. And they wonder why their ratings are in the toilet? Has MSNBC checked the crazy things she has said, like her anti-Trump Thanksgiving rant? They should be giving her the boot, not just cutting her salary.

Reid has also lost almost half her audience since the election. MSNBC primetime ratings have lost almost 60 percent over that time That’s a huge dive.
But she’ll probably take the cut rather than leave for somewhere else because who else would take her on, given the rants?

This all comes in the shadow of prospective layoffs for MSNBC, so if all Joy Reid and Stephanie Rhule get is a pay cut, they may still be the lucky ones. More pain may still be coming for the folks at MSNBC, and it couldn’t be happening to a more deserving crew. There’s even talk that the head of the network, Rashida Jones, may be out the door once Trump comes in. While MSNBC isn’t talking about other personnel matters, they denied that.
Karma has finally arrived for this disaster of a network. Hopefully, they do get sold and completely made over into a useful network.
