To commemorate Karl-Anthony Towns’ momentous return to Minnesota, we’ll take a look at three KAT prop bets — the Kitten (easy), the Kaliko KAT (3s made) and the Lion (majestic, huge KAT stuff). All odds via BetMGM.
The Kitten: over 0.5 blocks -225 — Towns has a block in eight consecutive games, averaging 1.8 in that stretch. Minnesota is the 12th-most blocked team in the league.
Kaliko KAT: over 2.5 made 3s +145 — this is a visceral pick, but because we’re just hanging out, let’s take a trio of treys for tonight’s main character. He actually shoots more on the road than at home, but still, he’s at 1.7 made 3s across his last 10 games. The market, predictably, thinks he will want to cook in a sentimental spot.
The Lion: 5+ assists +310 — if those last odds don’t seem juicy enough, at least this seems a bit high. Towns has five or six assists in each of his last three games.
A parlay would be rewarded +1351. Now to the books: In Towns’ 24 games this year, he’s hit all three of these marks just…once, which in a vacuum should make the odds +2400. The public is rooting for a big KAT night indeed.
