The three-bedroom, two-level home is located near Bergerac, just 100km east of Bordeaux, known for its renowned wine region.

Nestled on a hillside with a pool, lake, and stunning countryside views, the villa embodies the charm of French living.

Originally purchased in 2023 after Higgins received a $2.4 million compensation payout from the Federal Government, the home was brought to market in September but has struggled to sell.

Initially listed at €420,000 ($682,000), the asking price has since been reduced by €52,500 to €367,500 ($596,500) in an effort to attract buyers.

The couple is selling the property to cover legal expenses stemming from defamation action initiated by Senator Linda Reynolds. A judgement in the case is anticipated in the New Year.

According to sales agency Agency Eleonor, the villa is located “10 minutes north of Bergerac” with expansive views of a quaint French village.
