Raiders quarterback Aidan O’Connell was carted off the field Sunday after suffering a knee injury late in the third quarter of Las Vegas’ game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Desmond Ridder replaced O’Connell under center.

Bucs defensive lineman Calijah Kancey shoved O’Connell from behind after he threw the pass. Medical staff placed O’Connell’s leg in an air cast before being carted off to the locker room. The second-year signal caller hobbled to the cart and was dapped up his teammates before being driven off.

O’Connell appeared to injure his ankle earlier in the third quarter while scrambling but stayed in the game.

O’Connell was 11-for-19 for 104 yards and an interception. The Raiders seemed poised to take the lead earlier in the third quarter, but ended a 10:20 drive out of halftime with an interception when O’Connell misfired looking for Brock Bowers.

The 2023 fourth-round pick out of Purdue had missed four games earlier in the season with a broken thumb after he replaced a benched Gardner Minshew. On the season, O’Connell has thrown for 899 yards with four touchdowns and three interceptions.
