Scarlett Johansson and husband Colin Jost stepped out in style at the American Museum of Natural History’s annual gala.
Johansson, 39, and Jost, 42, walked the Thursday, December 5, red carpet together, beaming at one another in their coordinating ensembles. The Marvel actress stunned in a black V-neck gown, which she accessorized with a pearl choker necklace and diamond-encrusted drop earrings. Jost, for his part, sported a tuxedo with a bowtie.
As the married couple posed for photographs, they sweetly held hands.
Johansson and the Saturday Night Live star have been together since 2017, meeting on the set of the iconic variety show. They tied the knot three years later and welcomed son Cosmo in 2021. (Johansson also shares eldest daughter Rose, 10, with ex-husband Romain Dauriac.)
“I will say, we have such a — we laugh a lot and we communicate with one another and check-in,” Johansson previously said on CBS Mornings in June 2023. “I’m married to a writer, he’s a comedy writer. He can get, like, very in his head sometimes, he’s sort of introverted. I’m extroverted, and so I think the key for us is just always checking in, just asking at the end of the day, ‘How was your day?’”
While the duo don’t always hit the red carpet together, Jost famously name-drops his wife on episodes of SNL’s “Weekend Update,” often at the request of cohost Michael Che. Such mentions cause “panic” for Johansson.
“I now rarely watch [SNL] without having a sense of … not overwhelming panic, just like a slight underwhelming panic because I just feel like at any moment something’s going to fall apart,” Johansson said during a July 2021 appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show. “And that’s the excitement of SNL and for all audiences, right? Because it’s absolutely live.”
She added at the time: “But when you’re emotionally invested in it and not just entertained by it, it takes on a little bit of a different life.”
Aside from dealing with Jost’s jokes, Johansson recently gushed that she was “extremely lucky” in her marriage.
“He is a very, very, very great guy,” Johansson said on Live With Kelly and Mark last month. “He’s a kind person and he’s hilarious and thoughtful and loving and he’s a great dad and I love him. “But he’s also, he’s got his naughty side. He keeps it interesting.”
Jost’s “naughty side,” according to Johansson, refers to his and Pete Davidson’s purchase of a ferryboat.
“He bought the Staten Island Ferry. A decommissioned Staten Island Ferry. And it is, yep, still decommissioned,” she joked, pleading with viewers to rent the boat for bar mitzvahs, weddings and more.
