America’s Got Talent alum Kabir “Kabeezy” Singh has died at the age of 39.
TMZ reported Thursday, December 5, that the comedian died on Wednesday, December 4, and law enforcement authorities are waiting for the results of a toxicology report to determine Singh’s cause of death.
Singh’s fiancée later confirmed his death to People.
Singh reportedly had a history of health issues and officials believe he may have died from natural causes, per TMZ.
Singh made it to the semi-finals of NBC’s America’s Got Talent season 16 in 2021 before being eliminated. Magician Dustin Tavella ultimately won the season.
“It’s My Deepest Regrets to let Everyone Know that Kabir Singh has passed away,” the comic’s friend, Jeremy Curry, shared via Facebook on Thursday. “He passed away peacefully in his sleep and this is the most devastating post I’ve posted….Services will be Saturday December 14 at 8:30 am @ Chapel of the Chimes in Hayward… Please keep his family and fiancé in your thoughts and prayers….I Love you bro.”
During his semi-final performance on AGT, Singh was buzzed by only one of the show’s judges: creator Simon Cowell, who said he was “not very great and I just thought giving you a buzz, it kind of made the act better weirdly,” the Daily Mail reported at the time.
Fellow judge Howie Mandel said comedy was a hard talent and that there was a lot of pressure. Heidi Klum, meanwhile, told Singh there was something about him, but quickly joked, “I’m married, it’s not going to happen, but you are very cute.”
